Thom Jensen is an oil painter based in Salt Lake City, Utah whose work grows from a lifelong love of art and the outdoors. Inspired by hikes through Northern Utah’s mountains and valleys, he paints real places with an attention to the light, color, and atmosphere that make each one distinct.

Thom holds a BA in Film from the University of Utah, and his creative background includes prop making, makeup effects, directing and video editing. Across these disciplines, art has remained a constant throughout his life. Oil painting is his true passion, bringing together his love of creating things and exploring the natural world.

His work also extends into children’s book illustration. In his latest work, "I Feel Like a Cloud Today", a series of original oil paintings depicts bears nestled in clouds, each expressing a different emotion. Paired with simple language, the paintings introduce young readers to emotions through dreamlike images and storytelling.
